Wanting society's stamp of approval, it's 'greatest affirmation of credibility and respectability', and wanting to be part of it IS assimilation. Why run from the word?
Gay marriages will be just like straight marriages. Some will be good. Some won't.
Exactly! Telling people they should not get married is controlling in the same way as telling them they have to get married is. We have the choice where I live, and I haven't. But if our rights were under fire, my partner and I would be at city hall before you could say click your heals three...
